Strathmore School of Tourism and Hospitality

Three students from University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) and one from Saxion University Netherlands had an educational interaction with Centre for Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) students at Strathmore.  The students had an exchange of knowledge and culture as they worked on their research project on entrepreneurship growth of small businesses and hotels in Kenya.

The CTH students took the UCN and Saxion students around Strathmore campus and treated them to a sumptuous lunch at the Snack Bar. During the tour, the students engaged in conversation on various topics ranging from food and cooking to politics, social, economic and cultural issues of Denmark, Netherlands and Kenya.

CTH has partnered with the two schools, UCN and Saxion, where they have worked together on several projects involving students from each school.

One major collaboration that they are currently working on is the international conference of the European Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (EuroCHRIE) which will take place in October 2017 with Strathmore as the host university in collaboration with UCN and Saxion.

This will be the first time ever that a EuroCHRIE conference is held in Africa. More details and call for papers will be rolled out in October this year.
