Strathmore School of Tourism and Hospitality

The Centre for Hospitality and Tourism (CTH) 2016 graduating class attended an elegant dinner at the Que Pasa Restaurant Karen, to celebrate the end of a tenure at Strathmore. The 4th year dinners mark closed chapters  for undergraduate/masters students, and the beginning of a new chapter, after duration of studies at the university is completed.

The CTH dinner evening started off with an etiquette and soft skills training conducted by Lecturer Dr. Lucy Gikonyo. Dr. Gikonyo emphasized on the importance of good dining behavior, giving the students crucial pointers on do’s and don’ts of formal dining.

A three course dinner was then served as the CTH family mingled and enjoyed a final session with the class.

The evening was graced by the presence of Mrs. Margaret Maingi, General Manager, Jacaranda Hotel Nairobi

She commended the students for successfully going through the four years of study, while highlighting deeper into the tourism industry current trends. With a wealth of experience in the hotel industry, Margaret gave the students advice on how to apply for jobs and conduct themselves during interviews.

Her parting shot was clear and concise; Have passion for what you do, and success will follow.

Congratulations to the 2016 graduating class.
